Spanish designer; master of French pioneers
Shortly after the Spanish Civil War began, the famous Spanish designer, Cristobal Balenciaga, had to close down stores in Spain and move to France. He later opened the Masonic Street in Georges Street, Paris.
Balenciaga, who had a knack for crafting and sewing, was a master at many designers, including Ober de Givenchy. Her destructive designs in the women's clothing silhouette inspired many designers of the twentieth century to the point where Christian Dior said of her: "She was the master of us all."
